Partnering with Dryad

Exploring identity workflows in open research repositories

Data repositories are a critical component of how research is done and shared. Dryad is a leading open research data repository with a strong community focus and 20 years of experience curating and publishing a wide variety of data types.

VeriMe is excited to partner with Dryad on identity verification workflows. Partnering with Dryad aligns with our community trust-building purpose and together our work will help to define and drive adoption of researcher-first digital identity protocols for research data on a global scale.

“Dryad supports researchers to publish their datasets with minimal effort and a high degree of quality, leveraging information that the researchers already have available so they do not have to duplicate work,” said Ryan Scherle, head of platform development at Dryad. “We are excited to work with VeriMe to further enhance that experience, providing certainty about researcher identities while reducing effort and allowing researchers to retain control over personal information.”

“Learning that Dryad started in 2008 and, in 2025, represents the work of over 200,000 researchers while continuing to grow and stay relevant is inspiring,” said Chris Phillps, VeriMe co-founder.  “Dryad has shown what it means to truly support the research community by curating data for the long term and continually investing in the latest technology. At VeriMe.coop, we’re excited to collaborate on the VeriMe integration to strengthen the provenance of researchers and their datasets, ensuring trust and reliability into the future.”
